Maine and The Common Ground Fair

This year Meadow and I went alone to The Common Ground Fair in Unity Maine.  She had a booth in the youth area of the fair on Friday.  But at night, at our cabin on Swan Lake in Swanville Maine, we made campfires. The fire in the bottom image makes a Unicorn, horn, face and eye!  Can you see?  I love to think we had a fire Unicorn watching over us in our little cabin all alone!

Surprisingly I do not have tons of images from the fair!  I captured moments of Meadow at her booth (Meadow Rain Creations) with my phone, but I left my camera at home that day so that I could focus on helping her set up and all of that.  You can see images from her booth on my instagram feed, @PhyllisMeredith2  BUT my personal favorite part of the fair is the amazing Earth Loom that stands permanently in a little garden.  Each day a weaving is created on the loom out of scrap fabric, pieces of nature and community love. The weaving from Friday and Saturday hang behind the Sunday weaving Meadow is working on here.  We got to the fair nice and early on Sunday morning and made a heart.  We visited the loom over the day, and the heart was still sitting in the middle of the weaving at the end of the day on Sunday.  I do wonder where the weaving lives now.

Mornings on a lake are so amazing.  Fog, Sun, Sky, Water, Reflections, Friendly Loons.  I can never sleep through the sunrise when I know there is a lake and the coming of the sun just out of my warm bed covered in wool blankets.

See you next September beautiful, golden Swan Lake and Common Ground Fair…..
