“All true artists, whether they know it or not, create from a place of no-mind, from inner stillness.” ~Eckhart Tolle

I have known Julie for a long time, since my daughter was in Quaker Lane Preschool with a mutual friends son. I started my first professional photography company, Eyes Of The Wold Photography, in 1995 with my husband, but let my “professional” photography go with the birth of our son. When I re-launched my photography business as Phyllis Meredith Photography… Julie was my first “new” paying customer! I have a special little spot in my heart for her as she took the leap of faith and hired me for her head shots. When I was just re-starting to do photography professionally again.

I dream of painting and then I paint my dream.” Vincent Van Gogh

Julie does so many different and amazing art forms, she sews, she creates multi media sculptures, she writes and illustrates children’s books, but when I went to capture her at work in her studio, I got the pleasure of seeing her paint one of her serene Japanese Inspired Koi Fish watercolor paintings.

The warm light streams into Julie’s upstairs art studio through a window. Bathing her work area in beautiful sunlight!

King Of Koi (Haiku)
Kohaku;
pearl backed with crimson
stepping-stones.
Revering;
Waters fail to ape
his svelte glide.
So humble;
Never realizing
He is king.

Julie is a beautiful artist, creating beautiful works, and I feel very lucky to know her!
