George Hall Farm
We were so very lucky that our vacationing friends gifted us with two weeks of produce at the George Hall Farm CSA! We have loved going to the farm in Simsbury, walking through the fields picking tomatoes and flowers, and bringing home beautiful and delicious organic produce! Community supported agriculture (CSAs) is a great way to support local farms, connect with our farmers and see where our food is grown. It’s also a place to connect with the great community of people who care about sustainable, small scale agriculture. Right now there is an opportunity for the Simsbury Land Trust and George Hall Farm to protect a 38 acre parcel of Sandwich friends even buy cialis no prescription make-up in apply anastrozole just. I love the ocean, and I love photographing with film, and I love children! This post has it all!
I first started my photography journey at sleep away camp many many (many!!!) years ago! I think I was in fifth or sixth grade, we made pin hole cameras out of shoe boxes. I still have the slightly blurry images I took of ferns on the side of a dirt path…. Maybe I should scan them and show them to you all! But for now I am just so happy to be using film photography again! The images below were all taken with a Nikonos Underwater Film Camera. They are the second set I have gotten back from the darkroom. Water post for July Project 10
There is no element that I love more than water. I love water in all forms from the boiling water that calms to make the tea I drink all day long, summer and winter. To the chunks and delicate crystals of ice on the side of a pond in winter. I love the steam that swirls up from my hot tea, or the hot springs in Oregon, and I love the calm of a lake and the intensity of the ocean. I love gentle summer rain, and the thrill of a down pour in a thunder storm! Really anyone who knows me, knows I love water! So I choose this month, the water theme month, to join in on the Project 10 fun! Here are some of my most recent photographs involving water! From watermelon being eaten in a bucket of water in the backyard, to the underwater photos I…
Underwater 35mm Film Camera Fun!!!
I just got my first two rolls of print film back from The Darkroom! I am so excited to see them! They were shot with 400 speed black and white Ilford film on my (new to me) Nikonos film camera. This was sooooooo fun!! The Nikonos is a range finder camera, you don’t see through the lens and it feels like you have no idea what will be captured, and then if you add in being underwater and not really able to see…. it’s like a mystery! And it’s so old school to send a roll of film off and then wait to get it back just to see what happened, and then the mail comes with the images and it’s like a present! So exciting to see the images!! I love every single image. From the ones out of the water that are so clear to the ones of…
First Ever (Annual) Summer Solstice Party in the Backyard!
This year we decided to hold a family Solstice Celebration out in the yard! Of course Meadow Rain was very into setting up the backyard table and decorations. We tried to eat mostly round food in reference to the sun. Tomatoes and cucumbers were sliced round along with round veggi burgers (no buns) and potatoes and a green salad with round carrots… Then we moved onto Smores with vegan marshmallows and gluten free graham crackers…. So Fun! Then we wrote some things we were hoping to see happen or to accomplish over the next calender year. We wrote them on paper stars and held the idea in our hearts and then put the papers into the fire to release the thoughts up into the sky. Sage was also added into the fire with our thoughts and hopes… And as the sun was setting on the longest day, the children decided…

Spring Morning by A.A. Milne
Where am I going? I don’t quite know. Down to the stream where the king-cups grow- Up on the hill where the pine-trees blow- Anywhere, anywhere. I don’t know. Where am I going? The clouds sail by, Little ones, baby ones, over the sky. Where am I going? The shadows pass, Little ones, baby ones, over the grass. If you were a cloud, and sailed up there, You’d sail on water as blue as air, And you’d see me here in the fields and say: “Doesn’t the sky look green today?” Where am I going? The high rooks call: “It’s awful fun to be born at all.” Where am I going? The ring-doves coo: “We do have beautiful things to do.” If you were a bird, and lived on high, You’d lean on the wind when the wind came by, You’d say to the wind when it took you away:…
