We were so very lucky that our vacationing friends gifted us with two weeks of produce at the George Hall Farm CSA! We have loved going to the farm in Simsbury, walking through the fields picking tomatoes and flowers, and bringing home beautiful and delicious organic produce! Community supported agriculture (CSAs) is a great way to support local farms, connect with our farmers and see where our food is grown. It’s also a place to connect with the great community of people who care about sustainable, small scale agriculture.
Right now there is an opportunity for the Simsbury Land Trust and George Hall Farm to protect a 38 acre parcel of
land that George Hall Farm has been renting to grow organic produce since the early 70’s. They have raised over $500k and need less than $50k to reach their goal and permanently protect the largest and most productive organic agricultural land in Simsbury.

We have belonged to CSA’s for many years! I just love farm days when we go and pick up our seasonal produce. I love that my children get to connect with their food and meet their farmers and help by picking and packing our veggies. They love seeing the animals and picking whatever is in season. I really think going to farms has added in their love of fruits and veggies. I am so glad that we have had the opportunity to go to George Hall Farm, I hope that many generations of children are able to enjoy this beautiful farm!!
