“Autumn… the year’s last, loveliest smile.”
– William Cullen Bryant
I chose the Autumn quote above for the use of the word smile because that is about all little Emily does, other than run around with so much happiness! Happiness and smiles, smiles, smiles! It all literally oozes out of her little self. This is my third year photographing this sweet little family, and it just gets better and better every time. I put a little progression of Emily’s sweet little face, from baby to older baby to toddler at the end, she’s been nothing but beautiful and happy every time we have gotten to frolic in nature together!
And oh boy can she run! She is probably the fastest two year old I have ever met, the fastest one I have ever photographed, that is for sure! So much happiness, so much to see and do, she is on the move for sure! I loved running around with this sweet family!
I think it is so interesting that almost all of the little people I photograph in Autumn pick up a leaf and look through it, or put two over their eyes. I love photographing them like this, and also it proves to me over and over again the importance of nature for children. They thrive out in the world, they find tiny acorns or giant pine cones… but they always take the time to slow down, look around, and experience nature with all of their senses!
No spring nor summer beauty hath such grace as I have seen in one autumnal face,” ~John Donne
