Today I led a class at Capitol Community College. I chose one of my absolutely favorite, creativity freeing, activities to do with the students in the Early Childhood Department. My class on drawing with your non dominant hand is so fun and so freeing. When you allow yourself the freedom to let of of perfection, and get your groove on, you might actually achieve perfection. If not perfection, then at least, all consuming happiness. I love teaching my creativity classes, freeing your creativity leads to all kinds of positive changes in our emotional selves. These young adults were amazing at overcoming the fear and resistance that often comes at the start of this activity and dove right into the joy… I loved my day with these amazing students!
These young adults were only allowed to use the materials that would be available to them in the classrooms the they will one day teach in… with just construction paper and broken crayons and whatever pans of watercolors available… they created actual masterpieces! So happy and proud of these students!
