This opera is absolutely beautiful, the stage direction, the casting the singing, the sets, the orchestra! It is all absolutely breath takingly beautiful, but also quite funny and very enjoyable. I had SO much fun photographing dress rehearsal Tuesday and Wednesday nights this week,! It was great to see the cast and the beautiful costumes and to hear the music, just being there for the excitement of dress rehearsal was amazing!
The family-friendly presentation, with stage direction by Michelle Hendrick and musical direction by Dr. Brett Hodgdon, features a talented cast of students from the UConn Voice Area. Honestly, before I met Michelle Hendrick, I had no idea that opera could be so enjoyable. From the first opera she was stage director for, right up until tonight's opening performance of Cendrillon at the Jorgensen Center at Uconn... every single opera I have seen has been amazing and fun and beautiful! If you can get there this weekend to see this performance, do! I will put the link for ticket information at the bottom of this page. If you can go... go, you will really enjoy it!
