The Lovely Leopold Family

These are the moments you will want to remember. Moments like this kiss, between big sister and little brother… holding hands and laughing after…. These are the moments I love to capture for people. This is why I love photographing families. Tiny moments, that are actually really huge moments, captured for you to look back on for years to come! I want to keep these moments in my pocket, and I hope you all do too!

These four are such lovely people! I am so glad they chose to work with me again this year. Their little ones are growing into such fine children with so much passion and soul in their hearts. This is a family with a lot of love to give, and it shows in their every action!

We were lucky to play in the woods for an hour last weekend. A longer shoot of an hour, (or two!) gives everyone’s personality time to shine. It give us time to get into a groove, and it allows me the time to create beautiful artistic shots as well as posed family images. An hour gave us the time to capture beautiful curving eyelashes and tiny sprays of freckles across adorable first grade cheeks. We got to climb trees and hike through the beautiful grasses, blow bubbles and make some funny faces. Photo Shoots with me are super fun, kids love them and we honestly have a blast playing in nature! I appreciate any time spent photographing families, but I really truly am happiest when we get to spend more time together!

“We need the tonic of wildness...At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature.” ― Henry David Thoreau

“Passion is lifted from the earth itself by the muddy hands of the young; it travels along grass-stained sleeves to the heart. If we are going to save environmentalism and the environment, we must also save an endangered indicator species: the child in nature.” ― Richard Louv

Just look at those beautiful eyelashes! He is such a cutie pie, such a happy boy, beautiful inside and out… but those eyelashes though, amazing!

We all know that strong girls will change the world, we need more of them and this is one strong girl for sure. I love how bold and brave she is. She climbed right up the tree, she clamored across the rock wall and ran straight into the beautiful autumn grasses. She is one of Natures Daughters for sure, a true inspiration… But don’t overlook her beautiful flowing hair and those amazing freckles!

“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.” ~Roald Dahl

The Beautiful grasses in the wildflower meadow are my favorite color this time of the year!

I can’t help adding in some of the funny faces we captured in this session. I feel blessed and so happy when kids feel comfortable enough to let their guards down and be who they are with me and my camera. I know that when they get silly and want to show me their funny faces that we are truly connecting. And that means the world to me!
